Heavy inflow of the Godavari river water is reported at the Dowleshwaram barrage near here due to heavy rains upstream.
By 3 pm on Sunday, the authorities discharged 4.06 lakh cusecs of water into the sea. With this, the water level at the barrage has come down to 8.60 feet.
Irrigation authorities have discharged 3,550 cusecs for three deltas and 2000 cusecs to the western delta for irrigation purpose. (NSS)
