Godavari Express passengers robbed

Vishakapatnam, July 31: Four passengers of Godavari Express were robbed of their valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh in the early hours of Saturday.
The passengers lodged a complaint with the Visakhapatnam railway police stating that their gold, diamond jewellery and other valuables have been robbed in the early hours of Saturday.

A diamond ring and gold ring from a woman D Suryakumari, two i-phones and Rs 10,000 cash from Ch Prabhakar Rao, two mobiles phones and around Rs 4,000 cash from N Sridhar and Rs 4,000 cash from N Phanibabu have been stolen.
The passengers who were travelling in A1, A2 and B1 coaches noticed the theft after the train crossed Rajahmundry station.

Police said despite protection being provided, robbers were able to enter AC coaches and escape with the valuables from the passengers. Hunt is on to nab the robbers.
