God is The Path to Peace, Says Scholar

Dubai, September 07: To believe in God and do good deeds are man’s highway to peace of mind, according to a renowned
Keralite scholar.

“Today’s world is deeply immersed in a variety of troubles. Whatever position man may hold, he is mentally depressed most of the time. His financial status, fame and power never keep him happy. Only faith in God Almighty can create a peaceful mind,” Islamic orator and advocate Mayan Kutty Mather told the audience on Saturday night at the Social Reform and Guidance Society, as part of the cultural programme of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.

“Suppose that a business person lost his commerce, a ruler lost his power, or a famous person lost his fame. If he truly believes in God, he shall willingly accept his fate and satisfactorily submit to whatever happens to him. This is because he believes that all that holds is bestowed by the Creator, God Almighty,” Sheikh Mather said.

“If that person only believed in this life, he may then get upset, and this depression may lead him to suicide. Therefore, medical experts say that depression is number one killer of
 today’s world.”

Sheikh Mather then said by believing in God and constantly doing good deeds, man shall be in a safe haven. “Otherwise, his possessions will not keep him in a sustainable status,”
he said.

According to him, there are certain realistic issues man should face gracefully. “These include the death of relatives and close people, old age, different diseases and physical challenges. Such issues are not avoidable at any
circumstances.

Everyone has to face them, and get experienced to accept them as facts,” he said.

“Meanwhile, there are some unrealistic issues man has to avoid. People, for example, are frightened from undefined matters that do not really exist. They sometimes get angry without any acceptable reason.

They also get upset when criticised. They always fear that something is going to happen to them. These kinds of problems have to
be avoided.”

Advocate Mayan Kutty Mather practises in the Kerala High Court. He was a propagator of atheism, but was influenced by the miracle of the Quran.
