GO ready for extending the term of Sudheer Commission

Hyderabad: Dept. of Minorities Welfare kept the GO ready for extending the tenure of office of Sudheer Commission of enquiry. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare is in New Delhi for attending a conference to finalize the grants for Minorities Residential Schools soon after his arrival in Hyderabad, GO will be issued.

 

Dept. of Minorities Welfare had sent the file to CM recommending 6 months extension for Sudheer Commission but CM has approved only 3 months extension. The objective of the extension is to elicit another report containing the details of statistics from the departments which had not furnished earlier. Govt. requested the commission to visit Tamil Nadu to seek guidance for extending reservations beyond 50%.

 

It may be mentioned that in Tamil Nadu, 68% reservations are being given. It is understood that CM is exploring the possibility of extending the limit of reservations beyond 50%. Govt. declared formation of BCs Commission. A decision was to be taken in this regard in the cabinet meeting scheduled for 26th September which was postponed due to rains. All the ministers have been advised to be in their constituencies to help the victims of rain.
