‘Go to Pakistan’, Shiv Sena responded to Owaisi comment

Hyderabad: AIMIM President, Asaduddin Owaisi should be sent to Pakistan for refusing to chant ‘Bharat mata ki jai’, said Shiv Sena yesterday.

The demand was raised by Sena minister Ramdas Kadam yesterday, on the sidelines of the Budget Session of the state legislature.

“Owaisi doesn’t deserve to stay in India because he does not respect the country that has given him so much. He should go to Pakistan or we will drive him out of this country,” said Kadam as per reports published in Mid-Day.

Reacting to the speech, Owaisi had made on Sunday at Udgir near Latur, Kadam further stated that there was no point in feeding such ‘green serpents’ in India.

“I will ask the CM to inquire into this.”

A probe into Owaisi’s Sunday speech was initiated without more ado.

Commenting on the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s demand who suggested that the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India, Owaisi has said he will not chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’

“I don’t chant that slogan. What are you going to do, Bhagwat sahab,” Owaisi said.

“I won’t utter that (slogan) even if you put a knife to my throat,” Owaisi said, amid loud applause by the crowd. “Nowhere in the Constitution it says that one should say: Bharat Mata ki Jai,” he said.
