GO 101 a stumbling block in getting loans: Abid Rasool Khan

Chairman State Minority Commission Mr. Abid Rasool Khan has appealed the government for speedy resolution of problems faced by the poor youth due to GO MS No 101 of the social welfare department dated December 31, 2013 by which the eligibility age of the loan seeker has been reduced.

In a letter to the CM which was also forwarded to Principal secretary Social Welfare Department, Special secretary for Minority welfare and others, commission chief Abid Rasool Khan stated that the said GO fixes the eligibility age of the loan seeker between 21 and 40 years. Until a few weeks ago, the eligibility age was between 19 and 55 years. This change has brought about hardships to thousands of people.

He also requested the CM to extend the deadline i.e. January 31 because of the confusion created by the changes announced by the social welfare department.
