Secretary of the Department of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS and Special Officer of Hajj Committee, Prof. S.A. Shukoor convened a meeting of the higher officials of GMR Airport. The management of GMR agreed to make Hajj terminal fully air-conditioned and to provide conveyor belt for shifting of the luggage of the Hajj pilgrims. Water proof Shahmiyanas would be erected for the first time. Separate prayer places for men and women would be arranged. Chairs would be arranged for the visitors. The road surrounding Hajj terminal would be provided with concrete construction. The official of the GMR also agreed to provide separate space adjacent to Hajj terminal for storing Zam Zam water. A special room will also be provided for making first Aid available in emergency medical cases. The shed of the Hajj terminal would be extended so that the buses transporting Hajj pilgrims should come under it.
Mr. Omer Jaleel and Prof. Shukoor thanked GMR Officials and told that after the completion of Hajj terminal works, another such meeting would be organized in which in addition to GMR officials, personnel from Customs, Immigrations, Air India and CISF would participate. The officials of GMR gave the details of the facilities to be offered to Hajj pilgrims through power point presentation. Mr. Yashpal Singh, General Manager of GMR, Mr. Syed Husain, Asst. General Manager, Mr. Arnab Ghosh, Mr. Gangadhar, Mr. B. Ramana Murthy and Mr. Ravi Kumar represented the Airport Authorities.
