Hyderabad, September 04: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation MT Krishna Babu on Saturday instructed all the zonal commissioners to provide correct information to the people seeking details under the Right to Information Act.
Participating in the GHMC’s ‘Face to Face’ programmes held at GHMC’s headquarters, the GHMC Commissioner said he was in receipt of complaints from the Central Information Commissioner Jannat Hussain that the zonal commissioners were not giving the information properly. He said he would take disciplinary action against the officials if they deny or give incorrect information to the people under RTI.
Meanwhile, as many as 40 people posted their grievances during the ‘Face to Face’ programme. The programme chaired by GHMC Mayor B Karthika Reddy was also attended by the GHMC Commissioner Krishna Babu, HMWS&SB managing director Adhaar Sinha and senior officials of City Police, RTC and other departments. As many as 12 people called up the officials during the programme to air their grievances about improper amenities in their localities. Further, 28 people submitted their petitions in person to the senior officials.
The grievances were addressed to the GHMC, Ranga Reddy district Collectorate, HMWS&SB and APCPDCL. The complaints were related to housing, illegal constructions and inaccurate power and water supply in the GHMC limits. The officials assured the complainants that their grievances would be resolved soon.
The GHMC officials have informed that action has been initiated on all 28 complaints received during the last ‘Face to Face’ programmes held on August 6.
