Give Bathukamma Sarees to adult women only: CS tells Collectors

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi directed districts Collectors to prepare the details of womenfolk in districts for taking up Bathukamma saris distribution in October. He also asked the Collectors to complete the target of Haritha Haram program of planting saplings in a massive scale.

During a video conference from Secretariat here along with officials here, the CS discussed various issues such as Bathukamma saris distribution program, Haritha Haram, and Minorities development and others. He said there are 1.08 crore women with white ration cards, who will get Bathukamma Saris to mark Dasara festival in October. He asked the District Collectors to ensure that all the women above 18 years of age will get a sari each worth Rs 280 under the scheme. The saris meant for Bathukamma were prepared in the State, he said.

The Chief Secretary also asked the District Collectors to involve other wings to take up the Haritha Haram program to complete the rest of 46 per cent saplings by the end of the next month. Joshi sought to know about the implementation of the Central schemes like Prime Minister Jana Vikas Yojana, construction of hostels buildings, skill development, distribution of cycles and computers, construction of schools buildings, Aanganwadi, construction of additional class rooms and for the welfare of Minority community. He asked them to send the proposals for the construction of Mosques and Churches in the districts by using Rs 240 cr.

Minorities Secretary M Dana Kishore said the Central Government scheme under Prime Minister Jana Vikas Yojana is being implemented in nine districts with more population of minorities.
