Girls suspended for abusive words on facebook

New Delhi, July 10: A city-based convent school has suspended six girl students of class X and XII for a week for allegedly using ‘abusive’ language on the social networking site Facebook.

After learning about the incident, the district education officer has ordered an enquiry into the incident.

However, it was not clear when the students were suspended.

Talking to reporters on Saturday , the Jesus and Mary school authorities said, “We have submitted our report to the district education officer.” The school authorities said it was their internal matter and these girls are their students.

It was alleged that the suspended girls were found using abusive language on school’s Facebook page while commenting on selection of school’s head girl.
