A young couple visiting the Kaigal waterfall under the Byreddipalli mandal of the district was attacked and grievously injured by unidentified persons on Thursday.
Police said the assailants sexually assaulted the girl and attacked her boyfriend with a knife. Police identified the couple as Ranjita and Muniraju of Bangarupet in Karnataka. The duo was rushed to the V Kota hospital. (NSS)
