A 19-year-old girl was allegedly
kidnapped from Kidwai Nagar area here and a ransom of Rs 5 lakh demanded from the parents today, police said.
The girl, a resident of Kidwai Nagar, was kidnapped while she was returning home after attending her coaching class in Govind Nagar area, Circle Officer Babupurva Pavitra Mohan Tripathi said.
On the complaint made by the girl’s father, a case of kidnapping was registered against the unidentified kidnappers, he said.
According to the complaint, the father claimed that he received a call on his mobile phone from kidnappers, who raised a demand of Rs 5 lakh to return his daughter.
The other students of the coaching claimed that the girl returned back to her residence after attending the class and denied having any further information on the issue, the CO said.
The call details were being probed, he added.
