Hyderabad: Ten students of Hyderabad University were suspended on Wednesday for charges such as outsiders’ unauthorized entry in hostel rooms and refusing to show identity cards.
The deputy wardens and security officials on a tip-off also found a girl in men’s hostel during a raid. A committee was formed based on the incident of November 3 at the MH-J Hostel, quotes Telangana Today.
Three students who found guilty of severe charges got suspended for two years. While, the other seven were suspended for six months from hostels and academic programmes.
The university on Wednesday confirmed the report and recommendations of the Committee in a Press release. It also appreciated the efforts of certain students for diffusing the situation.
The report included the charges of; unauthorized entry of outsiders into the hostel room, refusal to show identity cards, switching off lights, sloganeering against the wardens, physical intimidation, verbal assault and preventing officials from delivering their duties among other charges.
