Kemaman: An unforgettable moment was witnessed by the members of the audience after a Christian teenager converted to Islam after attending the lecture by famed Muslim preacher Dr Zakir Naik on Thursday.
Woo Nina Grace, 19, in full public view of almost 40,000 at Padang Astaka in Malaysia recited the Shahadah (declaration of faith) and became a Muslim.
As per media reports, the event titled ‘Muslims’ Choice – Faith or Destruction’ satisfied Nina with the explanations, therefore she decided to make the leap of faith.
Nina, a student at a private college had been studying Islam since she was 13 years old and is familiar with Al-Quran verses including Al-Fatihah and Kursi. Her father is from Johor and mother from the Philippines.
As she recited the Shahadah, Grace could not hold back her tears. Tears also flowed freely among the audience too who came to attend the lecture.
Dr Zakir and Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman at the end of the talk met Nina in a room backstage.
