Girl divorced on phone 5 days after her marriage on phone

Hyderabad, May 14: In an unfortunate and bizarre incident daughter’s Nikah performed on phone proved dear to a man as his daughter got divorce on phone, only five days after she was married on phone.

The weird incident of fraud has stunned the whole family as the girl’s life is ruined in a very short span of 5 days of married life. The marriage took place on April 21 and she was divorced on April 25.

Girl’s father Mohammad Kareem Uddin is a retired government servant he told that he had published matrimonial advertisement for his daughter’s marriage alliance, on which a Hyderabadi youth living in Dubai showed interest in alliance he told his name Syed Younus he told that he hailed from Sanathnagar and was working as software engineer in Riyadh for the last 21 years. When asked about his family details he requested to keep the marriage a secret and told that he would send all the details, passport copy and company’s letterhead and did the same.

Meanwhile a local Qazi inquired on phone regarding the nikah and after his satisfactory reply the girl’s parents agreed to perform Nikah on phone. On Qazi’s advice when the girl’s parents asked him to produce any of his local relatives as witness he started showing himself in his true colours.

Girl’s father told that still he couldn’t understand his conspiracy and on the request of the groom, produced his own relative as the groom’s witness at the time of Nikah. And the Nikah was performed on April 21 2011. The groom agreed to pay Rs. 1 lakh as ‘mehr’.

After five days of marriage he disclosed a shocking revelation that he is not coming to Hyderabad hence he asked to send the girl to Delhi on which girl’s father refused saying that ‘till now we have fulfilled all your demands and now we cannot send the girl without seeing you’. The groom got angry over this and sent talaq SMS on bride’s phone three times.

After sending the message the boy is threatening the girl to take ‘khula’ or he will destroy her. Moreover he is not ready to talk about the ‘mehr’ amount and compensation.

The girl’s parent at first approached CCS and later went to Women police station where they were advised to lodge a complaint in their respective police station.
