The Embassy officials, however, remained tight-lipped when asked to confirm or deny whether Nazia Quazi, who was reportedly been prevented from leaving the Kingdom since 2007, had left Saudi Arabia as a seat for her was booked on a flight for Dubai on Saturday night.
Ms Quazi’s family moved to Canada in 2001. Her father, however, remained a resident of Saudi Arabia.
She went to high school in Canada, where she met B Singhal at the University of Ottawa. Later in 2005, she became a Canadian citizen.
Ms Quazi’s case was taken up by the Human Rights Watch in January this year.
