New Delhi, July 08: In a shocking incident in Beed, Maharashtra, a 16-year-old was burnt alive for resisting rape.
The victim’s father claims the neighbour Jeevan Kale poured kerosene on her and set her on fire when she tried to fight him off. The minor died in the hospital.
“He barged into our house and tried to force himself on my daughter. When she tried to defend herself, he beat her up and set her on fire,” said Sunil Jadhao, victim’s father.
The incident occured on Wednesday when the girl was alone at home. Kale is now absconding. Police have registered a case of murder.
According to police, Jeevan Kale, the accused, is a second year student doing D-Ed course at the Maharudra Mote College at Girvali in Osmanabad district.
