Girl apprehends honour killing, HC summons her parents

New Delhi, November 09: The Delhi High Court today summoned the parents of a girl who apprehended honour killing as she refused to go back to her matrimonial home after being forcibly married against her wish.

Justice Ajit Bharihoke in an order directed Raghubar Prasad Meena and his wife Jagmanti, a resident of Jaipur in Rajasthan, to appear before the court on March 13 next year on a petition filed by their daughter Sheela Meena seeking protection as she was apprehending threat to life from them after she had run away from her matrimonial home.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Sheela, 22, alleging that her parents along with maternal uncle Manraj Meena, who works in Delhi Police, harassed her and as a result she had to quit her jobs in Bangalore and Noida.
