Hyderabad: A 20-year-old student messaged a girl, his Instagram friend, asking her to have sex with him and that he would pay for it. He did with bruises, because the girl called the boy to an apartment in Madhapur, and got her friends to beat him up badly.
Meanwhile, both the boy and the girl have lodged counter complaints with the Madhapur police, who have registered two cases.
The girl, a 20-year-old engineering student living in Dilsukhnagar, received a message from one N Vikram Nayak on her Instagram profile on July 3. “Initially, the conversations were normal, but gradually, he started showing his lust and desperation by directly asking for sex. Vikram told her that he would meet on Saturday (August 18) to have sex, and misbehaved with her,” the police, quoting her complaint said.
She also alleged that Vikram was also having similar conversations with other girls on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Vikram who went to meet the girl on Saturday at a flat in Ayyappa Society was beaten by her friends. A native of Warangal district, Vikram said in his complaint, “I received a message from the girl to meet her. I rushed to Hyderabad on Saturday and went to the address provided by her. When I entered the flat, some six persons who were present there locked the door and beat me with iron rods.”
Madhapur sub-inspector Venkat Reddy said “Vikram was asking the girl to have sex with him and was troubling her. A case has been registered against him under section 354 D of IPC (stalking). In order to teach him a lesson, she told her friends, who beat him badly.”
The SI said that the girl should have complained to the police about the harassment, instead she told her friends. “Nobody has the right to take the law into their hands and act violently. If the boy has committed a mistake, they should have approached the police or brought him to the police station, but cannot beat him up,” said SI Reddy.
A case has been booked against six persons for illegally confining and causing hurt to Vikram. Both the cases are being investigated and action will be taken against the accused in both the cases.”
