State Girijan Forum has decided to mount pressure on the TRS government to increase reservation to 12 per cent for Girijans in the State.
Forum’s president Laxman Naik said in a statement that a meeting would be held here on Friday at NTR Trust Bhavan where a joint action committee would be set up for taking up program demanding increase of reservation from the existing 6 per cent to 12 per cent. TRS had promised to increase reservation for Girijans before elections and after coming to power, Naik said.
The government should clarify about the reservation quota for girijans in the allotment of engineering, medical seats and government jobs, he said. (NSS)
