Ghulam Nabi Azad to be relieved of AP Affairs

It is learnt that Congress High Command is contemplating to relieve Ghulam Nabi Azad of the responsibility of A.P. inchargeship as he has not been able to resolve the internal disputes of Congress party in the state. A.P. leadership is also not happy with his style of functioning. As an aftermath of the defeat of Congress party in the recent elections of four northern states, Congress party is trying to install new zeal among the party workers. In Congress ruled states, Chief Ministers are being instructed to fulfill election promises. Despite changing the CM in A.P. internal conflicts did not end. There is a lack of coordination between party and Govt. The newly elected Congress members of the Assembly are trying to save party from all these troubles.

Ms. Sonia Gandhi had nominated Ghulam Nabi Azad with some expectations which he didn’t fulfill. Mr. Azad besides holding the important cabinet portfolio of Health Ministry. He is also incharge of Uttara Khand, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Goa. He is not able to spare time to concentrate on the party affairs of A.P. Members of Congress party have not been able to follow discipline. They are exceeding their limits. It was Mr. Ghulam Nahi Azad who had gone to the residence of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and had made an alliance to bring back Congress to power which has been out of power for the past 10 years. From 2004 to 2012 there were many critical situations for the Congress party. Telangana issue couldn’t be resolved.

In place of two retiring Muslim members of Rajya Sabha, no Muslim candidate could be nominated. Due to this, the Muslim leaders of Congress are also angry at him. Congress had promised that the loss of Muslim representation in 2004 elections would be compensated by nominating Muslim leaders of Congress to various corporation posts. This was not fulfilled.
