Hyderabad: Last night, the weather was pleasant due to light and heavy rains but if rains continue in this manner, very old and unsafe buildings could be damaged. GHMC is taking steps to dismantle old buildings but it is neglecting historical buildings which may benefit the politicians in case they are dismantled.
GHMC can repair these historical buildings to make them safe for which no one can stop them but the persons who were envious of historical buildings are engaged in vanishing them.
Land grabbers are waiting for the dismantling of such buildings since they would get benefit out of them. It is reported that instead of repairing the old historical buildings, GHMC is enlisting them under the category of risky buildings.
It is also reported that a spacious devdhi located at Shahgunj is likely to be included on the list of dilapidated buildings so that its land could be sold. In the same manner, an attempt is being made to get such historical places on the list of risky buildings so that they could be dismantled.
It may be mentioned that the officials were encouraged due to the decision of the Govt. to dismantle Osmania General Hospital.
