Hyderabad, October 30: The next ordinary general body meeting of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) would be held on November 3. Originally, the meeting was scheduled for September 15 and had to be postponed following the Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike for Telangana statehood.
The general body meeting is likely to be stormy as it is being held after a gap of almost six months. The last meeting was held on April 7. The opposition Telugu Desam Party is planning to corner the GHMC officials on issues related to the public health, especially outbreak of Dengu and Malaria in the city.
Meanwhile, the GHMC’s Standing Committee will meet on October 31 to approve the earlier decision and also to finalise the agency for the general body meeting. Both the meetings will be chaired by GHMC Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy.
