GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy on Friday informed that the corporation would undertake comprehensive revision of electoral rolls from July 1 to August 15.
The Commissioner said for the first time, Global Positioning System (GPS) would be used for enrolment of names in the voters’ list. He said as many 3,879 officials would be deployed at booth-level for the electoral rolls’ revision and the entire process would be monitored by 392 top officials. He said tabs would be used for the enrolment and they would be linked with the GPS.
Janardhan Reddy also informed that the colour identity cards would be issued to all voters in the GHMC limits. He said voters could get clour IDs by paying Rs. 25 at Citizen Service Centres. He said the boundaries of polling booths would be set using Satellite mapping. (INN)
