The tenure of office of the elected representatives of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation comes to an end on Wednesday 3rd December. All the executive powers will be transferred to Special Officer of GHMC. He will take all the decision till the next body is formed. It is understood that Govt. of Telangana wants to reallocate Municipal constituencies. It is being considered seriously to GHMC into two or three corporations like Delhi and Mumbai. The final decision will be taken by Mr. KCR. In the present GHMC there was a coalition between MIM and Congress. For the initial two years Ms. Banda Kartika Reddy (Congress) was the Mayor whereas Mr. Majid Husain (MIM) was the Mayor for the subsequent three years. It is speculated that MIM will forge an alliance with TRS whereas TDP and BJP will fight elections jointly. All the political parties have started finalizing their election strategies.
