After announcement of demonetization by the Union government, the GHMC has initiated various measures to encourage cashless transactions, including payment of property tax in the city.
As an incentive to encourage people to switch over to cashless transaction, GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy has announced that Rs 5 lakh reward would be given after a draw for making payment of property tax through online. Presently, only 12% people were paying their taxes through online and the GHMC wanted to increase this percentage by initiating various measures to encourage people for cashless transactions, the Commissioner said.
Earlier, the GHMC authorities announced cash reward to those who pay their taxes in time. The cash reward used to be given after a draw. (NSS)
