Hyderabad, January 31 (INN): The Standing Committee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Monday gave nod for corporation’s Rs 3600 crore budget for the year 2012-13.
Briefing the media persons after the Standing Committee’s met here, GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain said that the Standing Committee has approved the budget and the same would be presented in the general council for final approval. Further, the Standing Committee has also decided not to share the works for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Projects. He said the HMRL would be asked to carry out all works on its own.
The Mayor said that the GHMC would also hasten the process of modernisation of slaughter houses at Chengicharla, Ramnaspura and Jiyaguda. He said he along with GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu and other senior officials would visit the slaughter houses for inspection on February 1. It has been decided to form zonal-level committees for the effective execution of works in all the localities.
The Standing Committee has also decided to review the Prasad Committee’s report on filling up of vacant posts in the GHMC. A decision has also been taken to release Rs 3.60 crore for the acquisition of 806 square yards of land at Lakdipul junction.
Further, the Standing Committee has directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements in view of Milad-un-Nabi festival in the city. (INN
