Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has issued notices to traders to remove constructions on footpaths. They have been directed to vacate the footpaths within 5 days or else large scale demolition with be undertaken and footpath encroachment will be removed.
According to highly placed sources acting upon the court orders, GHMC in collaboration with police department and traffic police has decided to conduct large scale drive against footpath encroachers. Notices have already been issued under South Zone limits.
According to sources over 300 business centres of old city have been served notices and they have been made clear that action will be taken as per court order. Notices have been issued at Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Engine Bowli, Shah Ali Banda, Charminar, Santosh Nagar, Phisalbanda and High Court areas and the encroachers have been warned that demolition activity will begin from December 15.
