Hyderabad, August 27: Health and Sanitation officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Thursday carried out surprise inspections in the areas of Yousufguda, Krishna Nagar and surroundings and closed down four eateries.
The three teams, each team consisting of Assistant Medical Officers of Health and Food Inspectors with related staff and enforcement vehicle raided and closed down ‘Food Planet’, Sri Sai Durga, Bangalore Iyengars Bakery and the Purna Tiffin Centre at Yousufguda.
The eateries were closed down since they were deemed as posing a danger to public health and also maintaining unhygienic condition in their premises.
The GHMC also prosecuted five eateries (‘Vandana Bar and Restaurant’, Ms Spicy, Sri Sai Sangam Tea and Snacks, Hyderabad Restaurant, Sri Sri Tiffins, Meals and Chat) for violating the By-Laws pertaining to Regulation of Eating Houses (or) Hotels, 1973.
Eight other eateries were warned to rectify the defects found.
The GHMC further warned all eateries to maintain their kitchen and premises in hygienic condition and ensure wholesome drinking water and serve freshly prepared food is served to the customers.
