The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to provide Rs 5 lakh Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy through United India Insurance Company Ltd. to its 26,400 outsourcing workers of Health & Sanitation, Parks, Engineering, Town planning sections by paying @ Rs 120 as premium per worker per annum from January 1, 2014 and renewed the same from time to time up to 2016.
According to GHMC, one Yadala Ramulu, an outsourcing sanitation worker of Sai Ram SWG of Ward No 17/C, Circle No 4B expired on August 5, 2016 at Sardar Mahal in Ward No 17/C due to electric shock while fixing a banner. The United India Insurance Company Limited, Malakpet, has settled the full and final claim of Rs 5 lakh and paid the amount to deceased’s nominee son Sai Kumar on March 28, 2018 through a cheque drawn on SBI, MCTB Branch, Hyderabad.
