The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has received as many as 665 applications for its Driver-Cum-Owner scheme wherein it proposed to provide 250 cars.
The GHMC has received 224 applications from East Zone, 116 each from West and North Zone, 113 from Central Zone and 96 from South Zone. As per the schemes, the beneficiary contributes 20 per cent of the project cost and the rest is arranged as bank loan. In the first phase, the GHMC had provided 123 cars to unemployed youth under the scheme. (INN)
