GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu formally launched ‘Praja Vani (People’s Voice)’ at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation at Face to Fall Hall Head Office here on Monday.
The Commissioner has informed that 20 grievances pertaining to various civic relating issues have been received at head office apart from 104 grievances received at circle offices and zonal offices.
Krishna Babu said that all the days officers were either busy in meetings or attending inspections and unable to meet the citizens to solve the grievances at Circle/Zonal level. Keeping in view of the situation the GHMC has decided to hold ‘Praja Vani’ every Monday at 3 levels (Circle Level/ Zonal Level/ Head Office) from 10AM to 1PM to solve the public grievances with much more dedication. He informed that he has requested the Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Department to allow the officials of GHMC to take part in Praja Vani Programme between 10AM to 1PM on every Monday.
The GHMC Commissioner, after inaugurating the Praja Vani at head office, said that the main concept of this programme was to clear the grievances at once without giving any scope of inconvenience to the citizens. He said that 24 x 7 call center has already been working and complaints are being received and disposed off immediately. He has also informed that 2,571 grievances have been received by call centre from 1st January 2013, out of which 1879 have been disposed and 692 are pending with an overall disposal of 73.08 per cent. He has opined that in some cases like Town Planning, Tax, Trade Licenses etc., are not getting solved at the call centers and every need is there to interact with the complainant to solve the grievance in person. Keeping in view of the above facts the programme has been organized in 3 levels, he said.
Krishna Babu has appealed all the citizens of Hyderabad to avail this opportunity to solve their grievances at Circle / Zonal level as the powers are already been delegated to the DC / ZCs at Zonal level itself. The issues which are not settled at DC/Zonal Level can be lodged at Head Office where Commissioner will personally settle the issue duly coordinating with the concerned officers. (INN)
