Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday said that the State Government would conduct GHMC elections as per the directions of Hyderabad High Court.
Reacting to the HC orders wherein it suspended the State Government’s GO reducing duration of poll process to 15 days, the Chief Minister said that the GO was issued as part of election reforms. He said since nearly one lakh employees need to be deployed for election duties, the State Government intended to reduce inconvenience for people and government by reducing the poll process duration. He said that the government’s aim was to ensure that routine services are not hit due to prolonged election process.
Stating that he respect the orders of the High Court, KCR assured that GHMC elections would now be held as per the directives of High Court. (INN)
