GHMC Commissioner & Election Authority Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy informed that as a part of model code of conduct, so far, 997 people have been binded over and 2,700 licensed arms have been seized.
Further, the flying squads teams have seized Rs. 32,36,000/- while the Static Surveillance Teams seized Rs. 97,90,000/- for which separate investigation and enquiry is being taken up.
The Static Surveillance Teams during inspection on Thursday took one person into custody in Maruthi Nagar and seized Rs. 19 lakh from his possession. Till the final investigations, this amount will be deposited with the IT department.
In the GHMC limits, around 1,58,000 unauthorized hoardings, banners and flexies have been removed. They include 6,823 cutouts, 45,245 flexies, 44,627 banners and 61,298 posters. (INN)
