The Congress party will launch campaigning for the ensuing GHMC elections in the Old City of Hyderabad on Sunday.
Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir unveiled a special pamphlet published by Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee’s Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail at the CLP office here on Saturday.
Abdullah Sohail informed that the GHCC Minorities Department will be launching the campaign from Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency at 4 pm on Sunday. A massive rally will be taken out from Bandlaguda crossroads to Uppuguda bridge. TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy (Assembly) and Mohammed Ali Shabbir (Council), TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikaramarka, Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender, TPCC Minorities Department chairman Mohammed Fakhruddin, GHCC general secretary Syed Nizamuddin and other senior leaders will address street-corner meetings at Bandlaguda, Mumtaz Bagh, Salala, Barkas, Keshavgiri crossroads, Ghazi-e-Millat Colony, Naseeb Nagar and Uppuguda Colony.
The Congress rally will cover three wards — Chandrayangutta, Barkas and Uppuguda — in Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency. The Congress has published pamphlets in Urdu and also in Roman Urdu for the convenience of Old City youth, who could not read Urdu. “The people of Old City are groaning under poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and lack of civic amenities. Despite getting elected from the areas of Old City since 1961, the MIM leaders have miserably failed to bring required development in the Old City.
“We will expose each and every failure of the MIM party and would certainly bring a new revolution in the Old City,” said Abdullah Sohail while expressing confidence that Sunday’s rally would mark the beginning of a new era in Hyderabad politics. (NSS)
