Hyderabad, October 24: The State Election Commission (SEC) is likely to issue election notification for conduct of elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on November 2.
Earlier, the SEC Commissioner A V S Reddy said that SEC would issue election notification for GHMC polls either on October 24 or October 28, which are considered ‘auspicious days’.
The SEC reportedly changed its track and is contemplating to announce the election schedule on November 2.
The reason for delay in issue of notification was that the staff who are deployed for election duties, are busy in relief operations in Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar districts and wanted some more time.
As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the notification would be issued within the time frame fixed by the apex court.
As per the instructions of the SEC, Special Voters Awareness Campaign will be organised on October 24, 25, 31 and November 1.
Enrolled voters can verify their Photo Electoral Rolls at the respective venues concerned and any changes (claims or objections) can be made.
