GHMC Commission Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would observe every Friday as the Green Day.
The Commissioner expressed thanks to the representatives various organizations, NGOs, Residential Welfare Associations and other major corporate houses for their involvement in Telangana Haritha Haram and making the programme a great success. He interacted with the representatives and took feedback and reviewed the success of plantation of saplings, their protection and maintenance etc., He said the GHMC with the help of various associations has planted more than 84 lakhs saplings and requested all the organizations to protect the plants.
Janardhan Reddy said Haritha Haram would be a continuous process and everyone should join hands with the GHMC in making Green Hyderabad.
He also informed that the tree guards were available for Rs. 80 to Rs. 800 and the information would be kept in the website for the convenience of the citizens. The Colony Welfare Associations and other organization must make their own arrangements to safeguard the plants duly providing with the tree guards, he said.
