GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was planning to modernize 10 major graveyards in its limits.
The graveyards will be pollution free, full of greenery and there will be regular chanting of Bhagwat Geetha Hymns. They will also have a cafeteria, Wifi, shower bathrooms, lockers and latest equipment with modernized electric crematorium. He said works have already begun on some graveyards.
The Mayor on Wednesday visited and inspected Punjagutta, Moosapet, Balkampet, Maredpally, Nagole and Amberpet graveyards. He was accompanied with Zonal Commissioners and other senior officials. While on inspection, the Mayor said that there was a need to provide a clean and green environment with sufficient number of piers, storage rooms, rest rooms, washrooms on-site traditional pandit, flower arrangements, car parking and many more facilities.
