GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar held a review meeting with all the senior officials with regard to arrangements regarding Bakrid festival.
The Commissioner instructed the Additional Commissioner (H&S) to provide one lakh big bags as it was done for the Ganesh Immersion to collect garbage. He appealed to the people not to throw the waste in the open areas and nalas and keep the waste in the bag right in front of the house to facilitate door to door pick up.
The Commissioner instructed the Additional Commissioner (H&S ) to deploy maximum number of Sanitary Supervisors (SS) and Sanitary Field Assistants (SFA) to identify where the waste material is being generated with regard to Bakrid festival and further instructed to provide the big bags to the Sanitary Supervisors and Sanitary Field Assistants for its onward distribution to the households in the main areas of South and Central zones as most of the citizens will be celebrating Bakrid in these zones. The Commissioner directed the Additional Commissioner (H&S) to deploy additional vehicles and JCBs to take up the works on priority in a time bound frame.
Somesh Kumar appealed all the citizens to celebrate the Bakrid festival in a hygienic manner with religious fervor. (INN)
