Hyderabad: The GHMC to link Occupation Certificate of Town Planning Permission with Property Tax Department in order to avoid delay in laying property tax, thereby increase in the revenue of the Corporation, Commissioner Lokesh Kumar today said.
Addressing the media, the Commissioner said, in order to improve revenue collection, one of its options is to synchronize/share the data with among Town Planning/Property Tax/Trade License etc. With this as per the issue of the Occupation Certificate of Town Planning Department, the Property Tax Department will lay property tax on that property. With the Trade License data, to verify the property tax levied is whether on Commercial or Residential and accordingly the property will be levied. He also said a special drive will be conducted on under-assessed and un-assessed properties and rectify accordingly.
On a single use of plastic, the Commissioner said the GHMC will strictly implement the ban of single-use of plastic of fewer than 50 Microns and penalize those who use the plastic with less than 50 Microns. It will also take severe action on the offenders who dump C&D waste and garbage on the roads.
On the TDR Bank data, the Commissioner said the TDR bank data was ready and will be available online, which facilitates the buyers and sellers. As the GHMC was acquiring land for SRDP, Road Widening and Widening of Nalas and so on, the GHMC was giving the option for TDR to the affected persons.
On Gambusia fish nursery, the Commissioner said the GHMC will utilize the Baby ponds to breed Gambusia fish, which will be released into the lakes and water bodies for anti- Larva activities to control the spread of mosquitoes. Fogging and oil ball activities will continue till January/February 2020.
On the repair of roads, Lokesh Kumar said patch works on roads were going on and once the rains recede, the repair works will be taken up. Some 157 GHMC monsoon teams were working in patchworks and it will take at least one week to take full-fledged repair works.
On waste to energy plant, the Commissioner said production of waste to Energy Plant was ready once the Electricity Regulatory Commission fixed the rates, the plant will become operational. He also said there was no dearth of funds with the GHMC and already the bills upto September 2019 were released and as and when the other bills processed, the funds will be released accordingly.
