The GHMC, in coordination with ELETS Technologies, is hosting National Waste Management Summit here on Saturday to identify the best practices innovations and technologies in waste management and promote them among the leaders of civic authorities and key stake-holders, including public-private sectors.
Minister for MA&UD K.T. Ramarao, along with Mayor Bonthu Rammohan are likely to inaugurate the summit. High Court Judge Justice Kodandaram, MA&UD Secretary Navin Mittal, City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy will also participate. In the summit where various Municipal Corporations in the country were taking best practices, innovations technologies and capacity building in waste management will be discussed where officials and public representatives of different municipal corporations are likely to attend. Representatives from Spain are also expected to participate.
In the summit themes like Leadership and Governance in Waste Management; Best and next practices in sustainable waste management from public private sector; Private-Public Partnership in local government development and Corporate Social Responsibility in waste management; Financing system and support in waste management; the role of technologies in waste management – RFID, LOT, GPS and so on; Wealth of Waste; Gas, Energy, Paper, Furniture; Demos and ideas; Scientific and Green Toilets, innovative sewerage treatment plants, sweeping trucks, water purify technologies and disposal technologies will be discussed, said GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy. Apart from State and Central Government officials, experts in the field of Health & Sanitation, representatives from Netherlands, Spain, France, Israel Embassies have also been invited, said the Commissioner.
