GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar along with N.V.S. Reddy, HMR MD, inspected Metro Rail Corridor-I from Lazarus Hospital, Lakdikapul to Rangmahal Junction. He was accompanied by engineers and officials of L&TMRHL, GHMC, HMR and Traffic Police.
The Commissioner, GHMC stressed the need for maintaining free flow of traffic during the execution of Metro Rail works. Somesh Kumar and NVS Reddy have given the following instructions to engineers and officials of L&TMRHL, GHMC and HMR:
Pier foundation work abutting Nirankari Bhavan at Lakdikapul is to be completed at a fast pace by L&THMRL for reducing the duration of inconvenience to the road users.
Accelerating shifting of LT poles opp: Venkateshwara Hotel by L&TMRHL for completion of road widening in this stretch to ease the traffic movement at Lakdikapul Junction.
Leakage of water supply to be repaired by taking it up with HMWSSB and to tackle water stagnation point Opp:2nd Petrol Bunk by the side of Ashoka Hotel.
Collapsed manhole at Venkateshwara Motors to be immediately attended.
HMR to re-carpet the worn out surface Opp: Police Control Room.
Town Planning wing of GHMC to expedite the acquisition of properties from Grand Plaza to Nampally MRO Office Junction for enabling the widening of this stretch of road on both sides. This will clear bottle neck for the traffic movement during the execution of Metro Rail works.
L&TMRHL to expedite shifting of major storm water drain opp: Gandhi Bhavan.
Engineering wing of GHMC to complete widening of road from Mozamjahi Market to Putlibowli Junction duly repairing the damaged Catch Pits.
HMR to complete the widening of road opp:Anuradha Palace and L&TMRHL to restore the road in between the Metro pillars in Jambagh road.
HMR to expedite formation of road at Rangmahal Y Junction.
