GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that the corporation was planning to hand over 176 Swachh Auto Tippers and also other vehicles which were allotted to Garbage Pullers identified, in addition to the existing 1824, on August 15.
The GHMC Commissioner directed all the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners, AMOHs to involve all Sanitary workers including various organizations like Residential Welfare Associations, Self Help Groups, Non Governmental Organizations to create awareness about the segregation of the garbage waste from the households.
He instructed all the officials to personally monitor and see that whether every auto trolleys is collecting garbage from house to house 100% i.e., (600 to 800 houses allotted to them. There is a need to educate the garbage collectors for segregation of waste from the households and they must and see that the segregation should reach till the dumping yard without mixing the dry and wet garbage, he said.
The Commissioner directed the officials to take up IEC (Information Education & Communication) programmes at Zonal and Circle level and utilize the print and electronic media to create awareness about various issues pertaining to sanitation to derive 100% best results. He has also pointed out to take out pin point programmes and proper planning must be there for execution of the work at all levels. (INN)
