GHMC to give Rs 50 crore for fire stations

Hyderabad, March 23: The Greater Municipal Corporation Hyderabad (GHMC) will provide Rs 50 crore to the Fire Services department for strengthening 14 fire stations in the city. GHMC will receive the said amount from the XIII Finance Commission.

The GHMC Standing Committee which met on Tuesday agreed to strengthen existing fire stations. The committee also decided to levy value addition charges at Rs 358 per sq mt of built-up area in certain parts of Kukatpally for formation of new link roads.

To augment summer coaching camps from next month, sports material would be through Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP).

Due to acute shortage of drinking water in the Kapra and Rajendranagar circles, the GHMC has decided to supply drinking water through hired tankers.

The committee has enhanced wages of outsourcing personnel working in Health and Sanitation department from Rs 4,030 to Rs 6,700 per month.
