The GHMC has decided to give special gifts to the people who extended cooperation to the Corporation in executing sanitation works and to the auto rickshaw, which collects dust from every house everyday, and sanitation workers and to housewives, who gives dust to GHMC workers regularly without throwing the dust in open places.
In a note, GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy said that the giving of gifts to the committed sanitation workers and people, who respect and implement municipal acts and rules to encourage good. He said that the gifts, which were in the form of cash or gold, to be given to the winners through local business centers, corporate, private and voluntary organizations. The Commissioner said that the GHMC was inviting the institutions to come forward to sponsor the gifts.
The GHMC has provided 44 lakh dust bins to 21 lakh houses to separate wet and dry dust. The GHMC also provided 2000 auto tippers to the sanitation staff to shift the dust to transfer station. The Commissioner said that the GHMC spent huge amount on dust bins and auto tippers and in the process the GHMC initiated steps to utilize these facilities by the people in proper way.
The Commissioner also said that the GHMC provided Rs.1,170 crore loans to Women Self Help groups in Hyderabad city through national banks in record level. The Women groups were paying back their loans properly as the GHMC took initiative to waive the interest of Women group loans. In the same way, the GHMC initiated giving gifts to the civilians and sanitation staff to encourage the collection of dust properly. The gifts will be given to the people and sanitation workers circle-wise and wards wise in primary stages, he said.
He called upon eminent business establishments, corporate, private, voluntary organizations, individuals and colony welfare associations to come forward to become partners by sponsoring gifts.
