President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee gave two awards to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on the occasion of the award presentation ceremony of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission at a function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. For the year 2013 for better city was shared by Hyderabad with Ahmedabad for implementing BSUP.
The second award for better city was given for the effective implementation of pro-poor reforms for the year 2012-13. Mr. S.K. Joshi, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Municipal Administration and Special Officer of Vishakhapatnam Municipal Corporation received these awards. Present on this occasion were Mr. Sameer Sharma, Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, Mr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GVMC, Mr. M.V. Satyanarayana, MD of APUFIDC, Mr. Y. Madhu Sudhan Reddy, Mission Director, MEPMA and others.
C.M. of A.P. Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr. M. Maheedar Reddy, Minister for Municipal Administration congratulated the officials of GHMC and advised them to ensure that the benefits of various schemes reach the beneficiaries so that A.P. State should continue to get more such awards.
