The on going crackdown by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) against unauthorised constructions came to a halt due to paucity of town planning staff. GHMC commissioner says that demolition of unauthorized construction could be expedited by filling the vacant post in town planning department. Many posts are vacant in town planning department of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar says that it has been decided to fill 2600 vacant posts in town planning department.
GHMC authorities have now decided to remove illegal occupation from tanks and rivers in Hyderabad. According to GHMC town planning, it has been decided to remove illegal occupation from Musi River and other tanks and rivers.
