GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that after July 31st all the traders and shop owners, representatives of various business establishments must strictly implement usage of 50 microns plastic bags. The Government of India has already banned below 50 microns of plastic bag usage and directions have been given to strictly implement the orders.
The GHMC Mayor and Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy held a review meeting with manufacturers, traders, shops and business establishment managements to avoid plastic usage to make Hyderabad a pollution free city. They said that the city was getting spoiled due to use of below 50 microns plastic which is posing dangers to the citizens and also blocking the nalas. The Mayor appealed all the shops and establishments managements to encourage cotton / jute bags to curb pollution menace.
