Hyderabad: GHMC election campaign is coming to an end. Rumours are making round that who would be the Mayor and which party would capture the post of Dy. Mayor. TRS, TDP, BJP and MIM have not nominated their candidates for Mayor’s post. Only Congress announced the name of Vikram Goud, son of former Minister, Mr. M. Mukesh Goud.
Speculations are going on as to who would be the TRS candidate for Mayor’s post. In case TRS does not get the required number of Corporators, it is hopeful that 25 MLAs, 5 Rajya Sabha MPs and 2 Lok Sabha MPs may poll 60 votes which is sufficient to get Mayor’s post for TRS.
Authentic sources revealed that if TRS leaves Dy. Mayor’s post for MIM, it is likely that MIM would nominate Ms. Ayesha Rubina (46) who is contesting as MIM candidate from Ahmed Nagar Municipal Division. She was associate member of GHMC earlier. It is reported that she monitors the flagship institutions of Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi. Naveen Yadav who is contesting from Rahmath Nagar Municipal Division on MIM ticket may also become Dy. Mayor. If this happens the MIM corporators from Old City would be disappointed.
