In view of the forthcoming GHMC elections on 2nd Feb, 2016, APCR, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Chapter in collaboration with Forum for Good Governance & Telangana Election Watch conducted a Face to Face Programme at Urdu Ghar, Moghalpura on 30-01-2016 for ward 32, Pathar Gatti, of Hyderabad.Mr. Shahran Bin Ali –TDP, Mr. Mohd. Hashmath Ali –CPI, Mr. Haji Mohd. Moosa Qasim –Congress, Mr. Baqri –TRS, & Mr. Mohd. Shajiuddin –Independent contesting in election participated in the program. Mr. Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui General Secretary HWF moderated the program, Mr. Mohd. Afzal Convener APCR was organizer, Mr. Abdul Rasheed Activist, & Mr. S.Q. Masood and many social activists were present.
On this occasion Mr. Jabbar Siddiqui said in democracy people are the king and elected candidates are their representatives & servants, people should behave responsible in electing their representative & work for the betterment of the society. Issues such as Roads, Hospital, water & sanitation, Maskan e Urdu, Osmania hospital & others were raised and the candidates had assured the solution of the issues. Candidates taken oath to serve people & not indulge the incorrupt activities.
People have expressed their views that such programmes not only provide an opportunity to candidates to prove their credentials, they will also motivate us to adopt a more positive attitude towards democratic processes like elections, and help in increasing transparency in the election process and voter awareness.
